Email that works: invites, resets, and an inbox
Accounts need email: invites, password resets, confirming a new address. I set up Postmark to send it, and verified the tcgmarquee.com domain so messages arrive signed and don't end up in spam.
Email the app sends
- Invites for beta testers.
- Password resets, with a link that works once and expires.
- Welcome emails, email address confirmation, and a notice when a password changes.
One snag on the way: the settings page showed example values in the email fields, and I assumed those would be used if I left them alone. They weren't. The test email button pointed straight at the problem, a missing "from" address.
An inbox on the admin page
Postmark can also receive mail. Anything sent to an address at tcgmarquee.com now lands in an Inbox on the admin page, where I can read it, reply from the right address, and forward it. Attachments are handled carefully, since mail from strangers can't be trusted.
