Shop logos, QR codes, and a smoother ticker
Card shops have their own brand, and many have a website or a social media page they want people to find. So the wall learned to show a shop page.
The shop page
- Upload your logo, and it's placed on its own page in the rotation.
- Add your website or social link, and the page shows a QR code for it. Someone at your table can scan it with their phone.
- Your shop name sits under the logo, centered automatically.
- The shop page comes up once every fifteen pages, often enough to be seen without crowding out the cards.
A smoother ticker
Testing the shop page on a screen showed another problem: the ticker along the bottom stuttered instead of scrolling smoothly. Two things were wrong. The whole ticker was drawn as one enormous strip, which browsers struggle to move, and it moved a fixed amount every frame, so any skipped frame showed up as a jump. Now it draws only the part that's on screen and moves by elapsed time, so a skipped frame just slows it for an instant. It runs as smoothly with 500 cards as with 10.
