Your cards with pictures, a wall you can swipe, and dark mode
Yesterday was about getting around the site on a phone. Today finished the rest of the design review: the collection, the wall controls, and a few things that make the site friendlier for someone who just signed up.
A collection you can recognize
- Card pictures on every row. You can spot a card by its art instead of reading names.
- Compact rows on phones. Each card shows its picture, name, value, and 7 day change, with small tags for condition or grade, quantity, On wall, and For sale. About twice as many cards fit on the screen.
- Tap a card to open it. You get the picture, the price, a chart of the last 90 days, and everything you can change about it, plus Remove (with Undo). On a phone it slides up from the bottom.
- Filters stay out of the way. On phones they fold behind a "Filter and sort" button that shows how many are on.
- A + button to add a card, and the game you pick when adding cards is remembered for next time.
The wall, cleaned up
The buttons under the wall preview used to be a row of links that wrapped onto two lines. Now Back and Next sit on either side of the page number, and Pause, Full screen, Share, and Screen mode are four equal buttons (two by two on a phone). On a phone you can also just swipe the wall left or right to change pages.
Your collection value and stats sit in their own card, and show mode is an on/off switch, so you can see at a glance whether it's on.
A better first look
Before, a brand new account saw an empty wall that said "No cards yet." Now the preview shows a sample wall with made-up cards (clearly tagged as samples), and two buttons: add your first card, or import a spreadsheet you already keep. Your real LED board and TV still show your real collection.
Tell me what you think
There's a Feedback link at the top of every page (under More on a phone, and on your Account page). Pick Idea, Problem, or Something I like, write a few words, and it comes straight to me. I read every one, and right now it's the most useful thing a beta tester can do.
Dark mode
The site now follows your phone or computer's dark setting. The LED preview already looked best on a dark page, and a lot of collecting happens late at night. If you'd rather pick, Account has a choice of Automatic, Always light, or Always dark.
That finishes the design review I started yesterday. What comes next depends a lot on what testers tell me, so send that feedback.
