A search guide, and 100 results per search
Searching for a card sounds simple until you want one specific printing of it. Scrydex supports a powerful search syntax, but I didn't know how to use it myself, so the Help tab got a guide.
The search guide
It covers the searches people actually need, with examples you can copy:
- Search by name, or by name within one set.
- Search by rarity, like
rarity:"illustration rare". - Search by card number, including ranges like
number:[101 TO 200].
Testing it turned up a surprise of my own: typing illustrator instead of illustration finds nothing. The guide now shows exact wording.
100 results, not 12
Testing also showed that searches only returned 12 cards at a time. That was a bad default. Scrydex charges one credit per search no matter how many cards come back, and one search can return up to 100. Every search now asks for the full 100, and the results say either how many matched or that you're seeing the first 100, so you know when to narrow things down.
